Home improvement retail giant Lowe’s Cos. Inc. (NYSE: LOW) said Wednesday that it has expanded its same-day delivery service nationwide for online orders in partnership with OneRail, an omnichannel fulfillment company.
Eligible orders placed by 2 p.m. local time will be delivered the same day, and orders placed after 2 p.m. will be delivered the next day, the Mooresville, North Carolina-based retailer said. Lowe’s 1,700 stores will serve as online fulfillment and delivery resources for the service.
The service is being enabled by Orlando, Florida-based OneRail’s OmniPoint software platform and network of 12 million drivers, OneRail said in the Lowe’s statement.
“The same-day delivery expansion delivers on our ‘TotalHome’ strategy to bring more omnichannel shopping capabilities to DIYers and pros alike,” said Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s chairman and CEO, in a statement.
Lowe’s began piloting same-day delivery with OneRail last year in select markets.
Using its software and driver network, OneRail matches vehicles and deliveries to help brands lower expenses and increase capacity to rapidly scale their business, the statement said.
