Canadian bulk hauler Trimac announced Wednesday it has acquired Tennessee-based Doyle Sims & Sons Trucking.

Doyle Sims is an asset-based bulk truckload carrier, transporting nonhazardous goods like clay, sand and oils. It operates a fleet of 111 trucks and 118 trailers throughout the South, Southeast and Midwest. It moves approximately 18,000 loads annually.

The company also provides brokerage services.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“In acquiring Doyle Sims & Sons Trucking Inc., we are not just adding another company to our portfolio; we are integrating three quarters of a century’s worth of experience, knowledge, and legacy into the Trimac family,” said Matt Faure, Trimac president and CEO.

The deal was the fourth of the year for Trimac.

The company has been growing its bulk transportation network and adding wash and maintenance facilities throughout North America. Doyle Sims has two shop bays and one wash bay at its Gleason, Tennessee, terminal.

“Together, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability, while better serving our customers across the Gulf Coast and Southeast region of the US,” Faure added.

Trimac operates more than 140 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
